Privacy Policy

This page is a general, plain-language template describing how this website actually handles data. It's written to be accurate and genuinely useful, but it isn't a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer familiar with Cameroonian law and any other data protection law that may apply to your visitors, before you rely on it as your formal policy.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information this website (the "Site"), operated by Akonwi Creatives, collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information you provide to us

  • Contact form. When you send us a note, we collect your name, email address, and message.
  • Akeera assistant. If you use our AI-assisted search or drafting tool, whatever you type is sent to a third-party AI service to generate a response, and the conversation may be saved for our team to review (see section 6).
  • WhatsApp. If you choose to message us via WhatsApp, that conversation happens on WhatsApp itself and is governed by WhatsApp/Meta's own privacy policy, not this one.

3. Information collected automatically

To help keep the Site secure and prevent abuse (for example, spam or automated flooding of the contact form or Akeera), we may temporarily log basic technical information such as your IP address and request timing when you submit certain forms. This information is used only for rate-limiting and security purposes, is not used to identify you personally or for marketing, and is automatically deleted after a short period (currently around 48 hours).

4. Cookies

This Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies for visitors. A functional session cookie is used only to keep an authorized administrator signed in to the private dashboard, and is not set for regular visitors browsing the public Site.

5. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and discuss potential projects;
  • To operate the Akeera assistant's portfolio search and drafting features;
  • To protect the Site and its visitors from abuse, spam, and security threats; and
  • To maintain and improve the Site and our services.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. AI processing (Akeera)

Messages you type into the Akeera assistant are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response grounded in our published portfolio and studio information. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into Akeera beyond what's necessary to describe your project.

We also save a copy of your Akeera conversation so our team can review it and improve Akeera's responses over time. We keep these saved conversations for up to 60 days, after which they're automatically deleted, and we don't use them for anything beyond improving Akeera. You can ask us to delete a saved conversation sooner — see section 10.

7. Third-party service providers

This Site relies on the following categories of third-party providers to operate:

  • a hosting and content-delivery provider, which serves the Site and helps protect it from abuse;
  • a database and file-storage provider, where portfolio content and saved Akeera conversations are stored (contact form messages themselves are emailed to us, not stored in this database — see section 8);
  • a transactional email provider, used to deliver contact form notifications; and
  • an AI processing provider, used to power the Akeera assistant.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies and security practices.

8. Data retention

Contact form submissions aren't stored in our database — they're emailed directly to our team, and from that point are kept for as long as our normal email retention lasts. Saved Akeera conversations are kept for up to 60 days (see section 6). Technical security logs (see section 3) are retained only briefly and deleted automatically.

9. How we protect your information

All traffic to this Site is encrypted (HTTPS). Our administrative dashboard is protected by a password and an email-based verification step, and only authorized administrators can view or edit stored data. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable, ongoing steps to protect the information we hold.

10. Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, request a correction, or request that we delete it, by emailing us at the address below. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

11. Children's privacy

This Site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. International visitors

Akonwi Creatives is based in Cameroon. If you're visiting from elsewhere, your information may be processed by us or by the service providers described above in countries other than your own.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
